News & Events ACDC

Dirty Deeds (Done Dirt Cheap) is one of AC/DC’s classic hits. In a case of Life imitating Art, the band’s drummer, Phil Rudd, has been charged in New Zealand of hiring a hit man to commit murder. Details are still sketchy at this time as the story is just breaking. No further information is available yet.

On the band’s official website, their official comment is: “We’ve only become aware of Phil’s arrest as the news was breaking. We have no further comment. Phil’s absence will not affect the release of our new album “Rock or Bust” and upcoming tour next year.”

The aforementioned “Rock or Bust” album will be released on December 2, 2014 (although is currently taking pre-orders).

Despite the excitement and upcoming tour for “Rock or Bust”, this has been a rough year for AC/DC. Founding member/guitarist Malcolm Young is “taking a break” from the band after being diagnosed with dementia. Again, from the band’s official website, they say, “Malcolm would like to thank the group’s diehard legions of fans worldwide for their never-ending love and support. In light of this news, AC/DC asks that Malcolm and his family’s privacy be respected during this time. The band will continue to make music.”

Malcolm and Angus Young’s cousin, Steve, has reportedly replaced Malcolm on the new album and upcoming tour.

Besides being one of Metal’s most legendary bands, AC/DC has always been one of The Crowgrrl’s personal favorites. My heart goes out to them in this time of trouble, and I wish for the very best for them in the future.
