Cesium_137 - Identity
Metropolis
Release: October 2009

On the other end of the sonic spectrum from the electro-gothic sound of Clan of Xymox, we have Cesium_137 and their latest endeavor, Identity.

This is a late ’09 release, but I did not fully appreciate this CD until the spring of this year (to be fair, I get a lot of new music from Amazon.com, Metropolis Promotions, and from other DJs and audiophiles). I like Cesium_137’s approach to EBM. Of course, I’m fond of any band that can deliver song structures with heavy beats; as well as bands who stay on the industrial end of the spectrum. Identity delivers all of the above. I can’t wait to play some of these tracks out on the dance floor!

For those of you already enticed by bands such as Assemblage 23, be sure to add Cesium_137 to your list of “must-haves” without delay. I have yet to explore the bands past releases, but I have a feeling this is their most realized project (with more of this quality anticipated to come in the following years). Cheers to Metropolis Promotions for trusting this small city DJ with such excellent releases over the years; and cheers to Cesium_137 for beating the odds and becoming a band of the future.
