The Legendary Pink Dots - The Pages of Aquarius

Earlier this year (April, to be exact), I was given notice on of the availability of the new album by The Legendary Pink Dots. Of course I'm downloading that in a hurry; and at approximately 80 minutes long, there are certainly no complaints here!

I rate this work very highly at 4.8/5 stars; and even while putting out a couple of albums per year (counting Edward's solo work and side projects), their sense of quality really shows here. Most tracks are succinct and to the point. In true Legendary Pink Dots fashion, the final track, "The Weight of Water", contains moments of true ambient master-work.

Stand-out tracks on Pages of Aquarius include "Mirror Mirror", which I am especially looking forward to experiencing live. "Trending", and "The Weight of Water" are also among my favorites - but may not be everyone's cup of tea. I do recommend this entire CD to new listeners, as it's the Dots at their best - and I'm certain all of these songs will absolutely SHINE when performed live.

If you do not have the ability to play this release loud, I highly recommend headphones for at least the initial play, as there are too simply many subtle tricks and soundscapes that you won't want to miss.

Fans new and old will soon have the opportunity to experience The Legendary Pink Dots live, as they are coming to North America to play out these songs and more. Tour dates are now posted at

This is the Dots second time working with the EBM label, Metropolis Records. You can download this release from the Metropolis Website or via Amazon digital download. I highly advise you to do so now!
