Accuser - The Forlorn Divide

Metal Blade Records

Thrash legends Accuser are back with their 11th no-holds-barred album, The Forlorn Divide (Metal Blade Records). Ferocious vocals over impressive musicianship abound on this excellent album, as dangerous and potentially lethal as a proverbial game of Russian Roulette.

Check out the video for the album's first single, "Tribulation".

Hailing from Siegen, Germany, Accuser are: vocalist/guitarist Frank Thoms, bassist Frank Kimpel, drummer Olli Fechner, and guitarist Dennis Rybakowski (who joined the band during their 25th Anniversary in 2013, when his predecessor - Uwe Schmidt - left the band for health and time reasons).

The dreamy, astral instrumental "Predawn" lulls the listener into a false sense of security before the album explodes into the raging "Lust For Vengeance" which delivers an unrelenting pummeling. The feral guitars are impressive in "Unreal Perception", which lyrically is spiraling out of control. The merciless "Arbitrary Law" appoints the band a self-proclaimed judge, jury, and executioner.

I love the backbeat in the foreboding "Impending Doom", which sends a delightful scary chill down the spine. The aforementioned "Tribulation" runs a grievous gauntlet, but also features amazing bass and a nice instrumental break. The bone-crunching "Perish By Oblivion" delivers total annihilation.

The traitorous "Fifth Column" is fraught with danger! The caustic "Sulphur Rain is indeed incinerating! "Flow of Dying" is a tumultuous journey over a tempestuous River Styx.

Fantastic adrenaline-laced album! Already in my personal Heavy Rotation stack.
